I have just finished tuning both my VE and MAF in OL. I didnt log any knock during OL and CL logs, AFR is 12.5 at torque peak to 12.7 near redline.
I have been just researching lately and noticed some threads on high compression engines needing less timing. I dont have access to a dyno (Montana sucks in some aspects)
My engine is as follows:
2004 LS1(LS6 intake, and block) 32,574 miles,
TSP 228R 114LSA,
Katech rod bolts,
PAC 1518 springs,
TSP 7.400 hardened push rods,
FAST 36lb injectors
Advanced Induction 241 219cc High Compression 11:1 SCR / 8.5:1 DCR, 60cc chamber
TR6 plugs gapped to .040'
Custom 4' ram-air intake and 4' SLP MAF with resistor removed,
ported/polished TB
1 3/4' Longtubes
2.5' dual exhaust w/ flo-monster X- pipe.
F-body T-56
RAM lightweight aluminum flywheel
LS7 clutch
Factory Mazda Diff LSD, 4.10 ratio
Again I didnt log any knock when doing both SD and MAF OL pulls in 4th gear up a big hill(load purposes since this car is 2740 wet) on a back road away from people. I use 91 octane (highest up here in Mt @ 3400ft).
I just want some insight. I just purchased Master EFI Tuner-GM EFI today and look forward to what that has for material.
Thanks guys

Reading Performance Information Data (PID) Posted by Alex (Im) E. On 01 February 2013 12:11 AM. Ignition Timing Advance- Degrees of ignition timing (spark) advance for #1 cylinder (not including mechanical advance). Intake Manifold. (typically when cruising under light load), and between 0% and 100% is the EGR solenoid is duty cycled on. In this video I show how to advance the timing on a 2006 Mazda 3 it's very easy only takes a couple of minutes and gives a nice safe 5hp boost to the engine. You will get better gas mileage.

Also, the reading I've done says that manifold vac is more appropriate than ported vac for the vacuum advance. I understand the differences in each, and some people have found one, the other, or both appropriate for their situation. My carb (Carter AFB 3460) is from a low hp '63 327 corvette.
